The Department of Business Management, College of Management Sciences, Evangel University, Akaeze Ebonyi State, Nigeria started in 17th November 2012, following the licensing of the University on February 28, 2012. However, the department admitted her first set of students in the 2012/2013 academic session. Twelve students were admitted into the programme for that session. In the subsequent years, the department had continued to admit students taken into cognizance her carrying capacity in order to sustain excellence in manpower development as part of her vision to be a First Class University in Africa and beyond. The department offers a four year regular Bachelor of Science degree in Management (B.Sc. Business Management). The degree is obtainable through course work and research embodied in a well-documented project. The award is made in learning and in character.

Philosophy
The department’s academic programme was conceived and structured to promote the overall University’s Philosophy of “Education for the total man”, through the teaching and publishing of truth in the area of management. In particular, the fundamental principle that underlines the academic programme of the department is to produce well grounded students that are balanced in theoretical and practical knowledge that will help them face the challenges of self-reliance, personal attainment, contribute meaningfully to national and societal development, and be able to cope with the problems emanating from the business environment and beyond.
